In addition to covering events within the United States, Gaylord also travelled abroad to England to cover the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II for the A.P. Queen Elizabeth's coronation was one of the most widely covered events of the 1950s and attracted worldwide attention, especially because it was the first British coronation ceremony to be televised.
