Philanthropy and Legacy

In 1982, Edith Kinney Gaylord started the Inasmuch Foundation, which offers grant funding to nonprofits that support the central Oklahoma community with regard to education, human services, journalism, and community initiatives. She also founded the Ethics & Excellence in Journalism Foundation, which offers grants to support organizations and individual journalists doing investigative reporting on Oklahoma. Edith Kinney Gaylord passed away in Oklahoma City in 2001 at St. Anthony's Hospital, where she had been born 84 years prior. She was a trailblazing woman who left a legacy of generosity and curiosity.
